If you told me 8 years ago I’d have 4 children I’d prob 🤣😂 But I’m so beyond grateful to be here with these beautiful children! This is more than I dreamed but even better than I dreamed🤗

Bethany Hamilton Instagram – I am so glad that social media gives me the chance to connect with so many people around the world! But truth be told, I am also definitely aware that it can be a distraction, and even a danger, if we don’t use it with thoughtfulness.

As I’ve navigated the social media world, here are a few tips I’ve learned:

– Move away from comparison. My goal is to remember that we’re all in our own journey and that just because someone is only posting a highlight reel on social media, doesn’t mean they have a perfect life. We are ALL having challenges at times!

– Encourage others. Social media is a chance to be counter-cultural in how you use your voice! I’m especially passionate about using it to encourage others to find their resiliency and ability to adapt and overcome!

– Stay present in reality. Social media is not your life, but rather just a part of it! Don’t let it rule your life, your decision-making or the way you view yourself. Spend more time with the people you love!

– I even have my Social media on a separate device and that has helped me cut my time down. Every week i take at least one full day completely off and a few weeks a year off as well.

Need a way to get out of the social media cycle? Get outside in God’s creation, dive into a passion or hobby, read a book, spend time face-to-face with family and friends. That helps put screen time in perspective!
