Caro Cult Instagram – There is nothing that gives me more strength than my friendships with other women. It makes me truly happy to see them thrive and grow. I feel it is the highest connection to understand feedback as a sign of love because someone cares if you become a better version of yourself. So when this is something that can bring so much joy, there shouldn’t be any bad vibes about women who simply want more for themselves. Some years ago, I started practising feeling happy for other women I didn’t even like. Maybe I could bring my excitement to a point as if it was my success. And this brought me to recognising what I actually like about them and why I think they deserve it. It expanded my horizon. And when I met them the next time, I started liking them honestly. That made me very much aware of how much patriarchy influenced my ways of thinking or judging. How much it is only my interpretation that gave me a feeling of mistrust about a person. With this, I put my mind at peace. Because it will never—not ever—make any one of us happier to compare or compete with one another. I know we’ve been socialised like that. “There is not enough space for all of us. Not every woman can have a higher position.” In fact, we can. Because we change and build our world. If we support each other, we will make room for more of us.
And once you’ve started, you will realise: I love women from the bottom of my heart. I share the deepest, truest and loveliest moments with them. There is nothing like the support of a woman.
