There’s drama in the fashion/ cosplay/ anime/ gaming/ streaming community… ?! Honestly when is there not? PLEASE can we Stop bashing and stressing each other and have more fun?! Do you know what a Japanese “Daruma” doll is? You see a big one in the pictures but what are they? These dolls are a symbol of good luck and fortune. Before displaying them, the owner colors in one eye and makes a wish. When the wish comes true, the second eye is coloured in. For some it’s also a reminder of your own life goals. Gunma Prefecture (where we shot the recent hot spring video) is famous for making these daruma dolls. They had a gigantic Daruma displayed at the new Matoi Hostel and Bar when we went to shoot there. I’m BACK! There’s so much to tell but here’s a sneak peak into my time in Germany 🇩🇪 It was great to go to my home state Bavaria after over 3 long years not going home. I spend my time reconnecting with my friends and family, some of which I haven’t seen in over 3 1/2 years. It’s crazy to see just how different the lifestyle is in Germany compared to Japan. Time in Japan seems to run faster, you’re constantly rushing while in Germany Sunday is still a holiday (no shopping!) and people enjoy a lot more free and leisure time, walks in nature, hobbies and quality time with friends…. and a lot of quality pretzels 🥨 It’s almost opposite to the buzz of Tokyo, but both sides have their charm. Where were you this time last year? I think after the big changes we have had over the last months, it’s always good to stop for a moment and self-reflect how we have improved and what has changed. This time last year Japan was still very closed and only specific people could go in and out, regulations were strict and there were no tourists at all. I was worried what would happen if I visited my family, what if I would get sick, miss my flight back and such. Now this year I am spending my first time home in Munich after 3 1/2 years of not going home. I’m incredibly grateful to see all those people again that I care about.
