Gabrielle Dennis Instagram – I found this old photo taken by Tyre Nichols, and it’s both beautiful and heartbreaking. I have cried and prayed even without seeing the video. I feel guilty that I can chose to not let those images enter my mental and spiritual space, knowing his family can’t chose to not suffer, but I truly have no desire to watch it. I don’t need to see it to be outraged. I don’t need to watch it to know there’s no reason for him to be dead or to have been beaten that way, least of which for a traffic stop. I simply can’t fathom the hate and abuse of power that some cops thrive on, but it is an issue that needs to be dealt with. Crimes are committed daily, but when they are committed by those who are paid by the people to uphold the law, it is beyond worrisome, infuriating, and unacceptable! I have prayed for that young man’s family. He was loved and seemed to be a ray of light to many….and let’s be clear, even if he wasn’t, he didn’t deserve to die that way. He was a son, a father, a friend, and most importantly, he was a human being, just like the rest of us. At least six families’ lives were directly changed that night, and there’s truly no reason for it. #JusticeForTyre justice for his family and if more than those 5 cops had a hand in not ensuring that man lived, get to arresting them too! #RIP
