Girija Oak Instagram – As a child I didn’t really like my name. It was uncommon and felt somewhat uncool to me (🙄) The Sanskrit word ‘giri’ means mountain and ‘ja’ implies born of/from. Like a river that originates in the mountains and joins the sea. I love being in the mountains and I live by the sea! It is also one of the many names of goddess Parvati. Since she is believed to be the daughter of Himalaya in Hindu mythology. I absolutely adore my name now btw. It is uncommon and very very cool 😉
