7 years since the pulse attack and hours later, gathering our people in the round, speaking words of truth, stepping into and recognizing leadership through love in a new way.
I talk a lot, but don’t often get super personal, and used to feel like I wasn’t “supposed” to say anything about my relationships. Half actor fear and half queer paranoia (there’s trauma to work thru to get to the good good joy, and we do get there,
So keep going) … even though i was out and have been for my entire adulthood. At this point, I could speak volumes about marriage; the evolution of my understanding of it, how we have redefined what real partnership means, how we are a true team, how much we laugh, how their success is mine and vice versa, the safety I feel with them to be all the way myself, how they are my home. How they continue to delight me and how our love continues to grow. And in that, how i feel more and more free. I’ve never felt so free and I’ve never felt such love. We encourage in each other to continue being and becoming exactly who we are—And holding hands the whole way. “Be whoever you need to be, I’ll love you forever kinetically.” Love you, my Reed.
