Heather Headley Instagram – In high school I did #showchoir (jazz hands to my fellow people…you know who you are🖐🏾). It was another introduction to music theater, and I Loved it!!! Anyhow, every time our school #choir, #CHARISMA, went to a show competition, there were two awards a soloist could get: Best Featured Soloist/Vocalist, and Best Soloist in the Solo Category. Every show we went to, I’d do my best, set my mind to bring home both trophies (yep, overachiever)! A few years ago, after leaving them there since I left home, my mother pulled all of these trophies out of her house, put them in a box, and gave them to me. They’ve been sitting in our garage, until a couple nights ago, when our daughter saw them peeking out and demanded one…Bringing back a flood of memories. Good ones. Happy, sequined ones 😉! At the time, the trophy felt so heavy. So big. So within reach, yet, a dream. And now, here it is, broken, cobwebbed. Dusty. Light. I may need to throw these out. But the dream is still there. Always there. Never broken. Never cobwebbed. Not light, but with hard work and strength, it’s able to be carried. Reach high. Over achieve! Work hard. Stay ready. God has plans for many trophies in your life…some, He’ll allow others to give directly to you…and some, only He can…and will. #happymonday 🏆
