Heather Headley Instagram – It’s a daunting piece of machinery. Isn’t it?! Oh how I dread even walking into the office to meet it…much more the room where it stands, waiting. It scares me, actually. Because I know ladies who are battling breast c#*^!’ (I don’t say the word!). I know ladies who are dealing with the disfiguring aftermath of it. Ladies who are waiting for reconstruction. Ladies who have fought it, won, and survived to tell us about it. And a sweet girlfriend who bravely fought it here, but now fights with us from heaven. Brave women. Strong women. Resilient women. And every time, I’m told all is well and i can leave, i start crying in the room (the sweet nurse was ready for me this time…), tears of joy and relief, but also tears of pain for those who don’t get such a message…even today…even in that same room! So, in honor of them all…and in a pledge to my body…I go and meet the machine, and let the machine do its work, so that I can move ahead!
