🥵 No benefit of indexation to debt mutual fund investment made on or after 1st April,2023 in case investment is not more than 35% in equity shares of Indian companies
👉🏻 It will impact all non-equity schemes like gold, international, fund of funds, etc, debt funds will be worst hit as many investors used to use debt funds because of the tax advantage.
🔷 Indexation is an advantage in which if your fund generates 8% return over 3 years and inflation in the same period was 6%,
🔷 You pay a 20% tax on the difference 8-6 = 2%.
🔷 So a total tax of 2*20% = 0.4% making your post tax at 8-0.4 = 7.6%
🥲 Not at all happy with this, am myself invested in debt funds and FDs both.
