Indy Srinath Instagram – 〰️I probably already told you this when we first met, but when I was a kid, I used to think that people were born with colored fingernails. And of course, here I could probably expound upon intrinsic perceived otherness and inevitability wax poetic on a point that WEB Dubois would applaud, but the real conclusion I’ve come to is that even once my mom taught me about the delightful convenience that is ‘fingernail polish’ I still opted to dye my fingers with poke berries (phytolacca Americana) because they just had an all around better hue and seemed more punk rock than a lacquer in a small glass bottle. So now I’m a full grown family of four (according to the serving size on the back of my Mac and cheese box) and I humbly attest that natural pigments are still the best pigments!
So here’s to staining your fingers with soil and mushroom juice and berry guts and grass and all the other earth things your hands find delight in.
