Story time: 6 months back, I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder & I saw my world shattering a little. The most confident girl in the room couldn’t walk outside without holding her mother’s hand. My panic attacks were real. I put my parents into worry. My dad was still processing what was happening to me since we don’t talk about mental illnesses as much in our country even today. But let me tell you this, Mental ailments are just like physical ones. You find a solution & you cure them. My therapist once told me, we go to a doctor for every part of our body when we don’t feel good. Then why do we feel scared when it comes to our brain? Isn’t it part of our body as well!? And that hit me. I decided to talk about mental health at whatever level I can & help whosoever I can. 6 months back I wasn’t ready. I couldn’t get through a conversation without crying or a panic attack. But today after taking a decision to help myself get out of it & rebuilding myself up again, I can’t even tell you how proud I feel about it. I have bounced back stronger.It wasn’t easy. I am still battling at some level. But I know my triggers now. And I know I am not alone. So if you ever feel this. Remember, you are not alone & it’s ok to not be ok.
