Maria Doyle Kennedy Instagram – I ran out of wool today so couldn’t finish the tank I’m making….then I realised I could sew on it…..then I realised that all my creativity is coming from the same place atm…. All The new songs, the writes …even the crafting. It is coming from the place where I’m trying to figure out how to honour those who have left but not drown in the grieving. It’s not difficult to remember and honour #VivienneWestwood , she was a huge inspiration and beacon to so many and I’m grateful for it, but I didn’t know her, she wasn’t part of my day ….. I’m sad that she has gone, but I’m thankful for her life and example.
Trying to process the loss of those who were close to us is different and hard and profoundly affecting and sore…..but I have to learn how to do it, honour them with my living, go forward, let them carry us on.
Heading into 2023 figuring out how to live in joy even though I understand what sadness is.
