Mayan ElSayed Instagram – Have you wondered how was our ancestors’ life 100 years ago? How sustainable they were in their daily consumption of food and goods?
‘Nawaya’ is a local initiative that encourages sustainable local consumption by reviving the authentic Egyptian cuisine; making local products in a sustainable ancient way using local raw material, and providing work opportunities for Egyptian women who are in need of independence.
This comes as part of the #GreenInitiativeCampaign powered by Drosos Foundation, which is a Swiss intentity involved with more than 100 projects as of 2015, which work to fight poverty, promote health, increase access to education and creative activities for youth, and protect the environment.

‎كانت جداتنا دائماً ما يقلن أن “النوايا تسند الزير” وهو مثل قديم يعبر عن الجهود الصغيرة ذات الأثر الكبير حولنا… وكذلك هي “نوايا”.
‎”نوايا” هي مبادرة محلية تحث على الاستهلاك المحلي المستدام من خلال إحياء المطبخ المصري الأصيل عن طريق صنع المنتجات المحلية بطريقة عتيقة مستدامة باستخدام مواد الخام المحلية، إضافة إلى توفير فرص عمل للسيدات المصريات الباحثات عن مصدر رزق مناسب لاحتياجاتها اليومية.
‎يأتي هذا كجزء من مبادرة #إيدك_خضرا التي تدعمها مؤسسة “دروسوس”، وهي مؤسسة سويسرية تشارك في أكثر من مائة مشروع من عام 2015 سعياً إلى مكافحة الفقر، وتعزيز الصحة، وتسهيل طريق التعليم والأنشطة الإبداعية للشباب، وحماية البيئة.
