A group of beautiful butterflies native to the tallgrass prairies in the central United States have been especially hard hit as 99% of our native grasslands have been converted to inhospitable landscapes covered with industrial agriculture. 🚜💨🌾
One of those butterflies – the Iowa skipper – is in especially dire shape. ❤️🩹 Due to the spraying of pesticides, habitat loss, and climate change; the Iowa skipper hasn’t been seen in some of the states it used to call home for 15 years! 😫
That’s why we’re filing a petition to get the Iowa skipper the Endangered Species Act protections it needs to survive. ✊ By winning protections for one butterfly species, we can help countless others survive by protecting the habitats so many call home! 🌻
