The chickens have been on a strike. Their automatic door closes at sunset, but they’ve been protesting to stay out longer since the days have been so short. Rob was able to negotiate a 20 minute extension, adjust the timer and now has them going in with the door again. Phew! But he spends those 20 minutes on high alert, staring out of our kitchen window making sure the resident coyote doesn’t come by for a snack. 😅 You win some, you lose some. #farmlife #freerange #freerangechickens

@gigipip Processing flowers for this weekend’s wedding sweet working mama moments. 🌹 ♥️ #thehatsiwear
Cozy sweaters, spicy pumpkins, old books, warm tea, crunchy leaves, jazzy music, fuzzy blankets, crackling fireplaces, wool socks, dewy mornings, snuggly kittens. Anyone else this excited for fall?!! 🍁❤️
“I would like to be remembered as someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability.” And you shall be. Rest in power, RBG. Thank you for the amazing work you’ve accomplished. You’re an inspiration, and I look forward to the day I get to tell my daughter all about you. ❤️
Marigolds have such a distinctive fragrance that I always associate with my first flower farm job in Humboldt, CA. It takes me right back to the little studio where we processed buckets and buckets of blooms into market bouquets. We’d pass the time girl chatting over the sound of rain and a Sade CD. It was where I discovered the therapy in flowers and realized that I didn’t want to do anything else in life but this. ❤️ @inclayco #farmerflorist #flowerfarming #organicfarming #womenwhofarm #farmher
Walking into the next chapter of my life with a @gigipip flat brim as I hang up my farmer hat for good! I’ve started 2023 off closing up the flower farming business my husband and I dreamt up four years ago. And as magical as it has been to grow and care for flowers, I’m very excited have more time to care for myself, my sweet Charlie and to focus on floral design. So here’s one last twirl in a field of rye grass before getting reacquainted with concrete. #thehatsiwear
It’s been an unusually warm and sunny PNW autumn but lovely nonetheless.

#Ad Been enjoying fall outings with my little one & kindly gifted @portlandleather bag. I love having something that is not only stylish, timeless & well made but also spacious enough to fit all the necessities for a mama on the go. Carrying the Tote Backpack in Cognac. @portlandleather
A lot of people ask me what my favorite flower is, and I find it an impossible question to answer. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pick just one, but here’s a roundup of a few favorite spring starlets we grew this year.
