Sadha Instagram – Veera & Cubs || 20th June ‘23 || Belara Buffer, Tadoba This did not come easy but the way it turned out, I feel truly Blessed & Beyond! 🧿🙏 Veera & cubs were sighted regularly, probably every day since the last 3 weeks & every wildlife enthusiast made a trip to catch a glimpse of these fur balls, Veera’s first litter. Inspite of desperately wanting to see them, due to work & already scheduled tours, I wasn’t able to make space for a visit there. With each passing day, I knew the chances of getting them at the same spot will get slimmer. Since she had no threat, Veera continued keeping them there for so long. But It was only a matter of time that rains would compel her to shift the cubs. On my first visit, the evening of 19th June, for the first time in all those days, neither Veera nor the cubs were seen. From what I learnt, Veera was starving for over 8 days & was probably out on a hunt. Unlike everyday, she didn’t return to the cubs that evening. And since there was a sloth bear resting next to the den, the cubs weren’t making any movement either, as they would, even in the absence of their mother. I had already planned my return the next day. Something in me said I should take a last chance the next morning before leaving Tadoba. Thank you so much @wildnikhil for getting the permit done on my last minute request! 🙏 Queued up at the gate at 4:30 am, I kept praying that I get to see them.. After a wait of almost 3 & half hours, my prayers were answered when Veera came with her tummy full to see the cubs. Every moment I had imagined and dreamt of, came live in front of my eyes! Like a strange feeling of déjà vu..
