Happy Earth day. I hope that you got outside, no matter the weather, and had some time to appreciate all the incredible things this planet has to offer. I hope that no matter who you are, or what your job is, or what your hobbies are, that you can come to explore some of the beautiful wild places around you — and grow to love these places and feel some stewardship over them. We need people to open their eyes and start caring. Greed has been the foundation of humanity and how we have paved the way for civilization, and we cant carry on this way. We need change, and it starts with falling in love with this place and realizing how instrumental every single one of us is in changing things for the better. We have an incredible responsibility and gift as humans to be able to empathize and care for others. Please, know how important you are and how much power you have to do good for the world and all the animals we co-exist with here. They have no voices of their own to fight for their homes or survival. Take time to learn about how you can help the wildlife and environment around us. Wild spaces are shrinking – habitats destroyed by industry after industry. Species going extinct every year. This change starts with you. It starts with me. Your family, your friends. From going for a walk at a nearby neighborhood, to volunteering at the humane society or an environmental organization, to simply reading the news or talking to your friends about environmental issues, we are at a pivotal time. You are the key. Please never, ever forget.

What an incredible planet we live on. If you are having a shitty day, or feeling depressed, I challenge you to get outside to a local park for even 5 or 10 minutes. I guarantee you will feel better. We are so disconnected from our natural environment in this day and age, but getting outside and remembering how much life thrives outside of us will always bring you back to what really matters.
