Susan Carland Instagram – One of the things I look back on in my life with the most gratitude are the times people went out of their way to help me, for no benefit to them, because in their past, someone had helped them in the same way. A kind of beautiful, generous relay race. . I try to help people out in the areas I’ve benefited from the input of others too, like when I tell people about great restaurants or cool TV shows or new chip flavours. Meaningful stuff like that. . But you want to know the most meaningful, generous, and more life-changing-than-a-new-chip-recommendation thing you can do for someone else right now? Because you benefited from it, and you can’t pay it back, but you CAN pay it forward? . Donate $5 and cover the full double COVID vaccination of someone overseas in a low-income country that’s really struggling to get its COVID vaccinations where they need to be. Like Syria, where only 2.8% of the population is vaccinated. In Uganda, it’s 0.9%. Friends, let that sink in: 0.9% . You and I? We got our vax for free and we get to live with all the safety and benefit of the really high vax rate in Australia. That disparity isn’t fair, but we can help change it. Next time you’re enjoying your $5 lockdown-free latte, celebrate being out and about by kicking in $5 for someone to get vaxxed too! . Susan Carland Instagram – V for Vaccinated! So happy and grateful that we were now both eligible for our Covid vaccine in Melbourne! It was probably the least painful vax I’ve ever had (Waleed only cried a little bit. So proud of him). A couple of hours later and I feel totally fine – no second head has grown! 🙃 Working with @unicefaustralia I know how many people around the world aren’t able to get vaccinated and I know me getting it helps protect the community. Nobody is safe until everybody is safe. ✌️ for #vaccinated EDITED TO ADD: turning off comments because this was descending into a dumping ground for antivax conspiracy, never backed by facts or evidence, and (intriguingly often) really rude and often using bizarre personal attacks, despite my attempts to engage politely and respectfully. So, go somewhere else 😊 My Insta isn’t for dangerous, unscientific comments to be platformed 🤷‍♀️
