Jankee Parekh Instagram – Last evening we were invited to watch the opening show of the Broadway Musical #TheSoundofMusicatNmacc 🌟 To anyone else, it may be just another musical but to me the OG film and experience of ‘The Sound of Music’ means so much more. As a child, this film was the first English film my mother introduced me to, sometime in the early 1990’s, but more than that it was also my big introduction to Music itself. We owned a video cassette of the film and I remember watching it over and over again. I was absolutely besotted by the lead actress of that movie, the great Julie Andrews and always wondered how someone could act, dance, sing and look so beautiful, all at once. I was in complete awe of her personality, her beauty, her charm, her voice, everything 😍 I have seen this film atleast a 100 times ( if not more ) and I still vividly recollect swinging away in the courtyard of my home and singing all the songs for hours and hours together… Which was something I did yet again, this time singing along while the songs were being performed wonderfully on stage. A big shoutout to the amazing cast and crew for putting up a spectacular show. Thank you @nmacc.official for bringing this classic to our city, making me relive my childhood and giving me the opportunity to introduce this piece of magic to my son, like how my Mom had done for me❤️ P.S.
