Just because you robbed me of my wings, doesn’t mean I stopped dreaming of flight.
Doesn’t mean I will ever forget, how it felt to roar through the air, on feathers of fire.
Even if the feeling has faded, like the memory of a perfume, still clinging to the corner of the room, where I pray.
Particles of yesterday’s light, still dancing midst the motes of today.
I still remember. And I learned there are wings that can’t be taken away.
