Derek Theler Instagram – This was an incredible day! I’ve always loved ancient history and biology, so this experience was top notch. I’ll admit I learned about @theboneyardalaska from @joerogan, then got in touch with JR with hopes to visit his site. His family was the sweetest! They showed us around @golddaughters gold panning facility. We even bought a piece of @ilauralongley handmade gold jewelry.
Next, they took us to the “Bone Dome”. Holding the skull of an extinct Step Bison from around 12,000 years ago was an unbelievable experience. We had the best time and I constantly asked questions as we held bones from extinct mega fauna and Jordan had all the answers.
It was an unforgettable day! If you ever make it to Fairbanks Alaska, you know where to go,
