John Gallagher Jr. Instagram – Goodness gracious. Getting out on the road and playing more shows is something I’ve been yearning to do for a very very long time. I could’ve and probably should’ve gotten on with it years ago but for a variety of scrambled reasons this seems to be the age that I’m finally putting my back into it and I am so grateful for the warm welcomes I’ve been receiving in cities I’ve never played before. Last night in Chicago was such a highlight. New friends. Old friends I haven’t seen in years. Past crushes. Grown up people I’ve known since they were children. Someone I met on my flight who decided to come out and catch the show. Locals. Local legends. Folks who traveled all the way from St. Louis, Kansas City, Texas and San Francisco to see and hear some live music. What a treasure. Everyone listened and responded and brought themselves to the table and then some. As Levon so perfectly put it, that was an adult portion. Thanks to @banditsontherun for sharing their sold out stage with me at @gmantavern. Thanks to @rparx for coming with me to run the merch table and make everything more fun. And thanks to the kind and generous people of the Windy City for the copious Old Styles, the multiple Malört shots and the many moving memories. I shall cherish it all. My hotel was on the street where they flipped the truck in The Dark Knight. That gave me a thrill. Happy Pride 🌈 and Go Chicago! | Posted on 26/Jun/2023 02:43:01
