When this journey with the sacred medicine began I was wrapped up with all sorts of egocentric emotions. I felt lost. I was insecure. I was anxious. I was frustrated. I was angry. I was confused…
I now have the strength to say that I honestly didn’t like myself. For a decade and a half I self medicated with partying, drugs, alcohol, and ego. I honestly didn’t care about myself. My self-worth was damn near non-existent.
Then, oddly enough it was actually a late night/early morning after a night of partying that a dear friend heard “my story” of childhood trauma and suggested to me that I come and sit in an Ayahuasca ceremony. I will forever be grateful to you brother because in that moment, that simple invitation changed the trajectory of the rest of my life.
The work in ceremony is hard. Nothing comes easy. Facing yourself and coming to terms with the skeletons that have been locked up for a lifetime is heavy work. Forgiving those that played a part in your past trauma is heavy work. Forgiving yourself for the trauma you have created in the lives of others is heavy work.
Nothing in life that is worthwhile comes easy. Life is hard but damn its worth it!
Now I see the truth. Everything is ok but not everybody knows it. It all comes down to trust. Trust in yourself. Trust in the universe. Just trust and you will see. When you have trust fear can no longer hide within your being.
Trust and open your heart. That is where you will find true happiness. The illusion of separation is fading away as my heart opens more with each passing day.
From the depth of being I give thanks to Taita @shaman_edwin for trusting me to explore a new and deeper relationship with the sacred medicine by allowing me to serve as an assistant to the healing of others that seek the truth that awaits them within their own hearts. Aho papi! 🙏🏼🌱💜
