Abby Wilde Instagram – In case you’re out of the loop, SAG-AFTRA (the actor’s union for screen performances) is currently in federal mediation with the American Motion Picture and Television Producer’s guild to negotiate a new contract that will ensure, among other things, compensation for our work commensurate with our contributions and protections against the misuse of our work through AI — things that are essential to the lives and livelihoods of all artists, but especially the ludicrously vast majority of us who are members of the working class and whose names do not carry the box-office potential or prestige to name our own terms. If these negotiations fail before our old contract expires at midnight PST tonight, we all join the WGA and go on strike — and while I fully and happily support this strike, that means this may be my last chance to talk about this movie for a while. So let me say it loud:
1. I freaking loved making this movie, and I’m so proud of it.
2. I love every single one of these people — I’m so proud of them, too.
3. I am so, so excited, blessed, and surreally anxious to get to share my work with so many of you at once for the first time in *mumble* years. It’s a bit of emotional whiplash to come out of such a long dry spell into something like this.
4. But y’know? I think you’re really gonna dig this one.
5. This would never have been possible without the incredible talents of our writers @monicajoysherer and @maddywhitby, our fearless director @nanhower, and the tireless work of @jamielynnspears, @alexisjfisher, Martha Fernandez and many, many others to bring us all back — especially the amazing talents of the crew at Screen Gems Studio in Wilmington NC who built us our little piece of paradise to come home to. I am so incredibly grateful to them all, and can’t wait to work with them all again — hopefully real soon.
