Alie Ward Instagram – True story: for our engagement photos 2 years ago, @jarrett_sleeper was like, what if we do some of them in tiny shorts or giant ballgowns? Absolutely solid strategy. But while @vonswank was taking them, a big green & gold fig eater beetle buzzed by in the @nhmla garden and landed on my finger. This first shot is maybe my favorite because it’s goofy and campy, but so earnest with honesty, wonder & curiosity — things I adore about @jarrett_sleeper. He has the fastest brain and the most generous heart. Today is our anniversary, but every day is learning something new & being rascals. Cut bangs, text your crush, enjoy who you have while you have them. 💖
Alie Ward Instagram – Birthday post on main! Today is Cole @imperi’s birthday and I am so lucky to have her in my life. In 2017 was looking for a #Thanatologist (expert in death & dying!) for my then-fledging podcast @ologies and found Cole through that very hashtag. We met a few weeks later in a Hampton Inn in Cincinnati and that conversation about death, dying & being your truest self changed my whole life. We became fast friends, and she and @vimperi moved to LA! As my dad went into hospice last year, Cole was there every step of the way, even recording an episode about grief while sitting on a sidewalk. She is brilliant, generous, inspiring, creative, and the perfect amount of weird. So if you don’t know her work, consider this a lucky introduction.
