The owner’s “crime?”
Offering free milk to customers who danced in his store as a way of showing opposition to the government’s trampling of the right freedom of expression.
“Come inside dancing today and get free milk as a gift,” he had advertised in a video.
While the Iranian Constitution technically guarantees freedom of expression, there are significant limitations and restrictions in practice. The Iranian government has implemented strict controls over media, online platforms, and public discourse, leading to a highly regulated and monitored environment.
