Ella Hooper Instagram – Thrilled to be singing on this gorge new album by ‘the gentleman shredder’ himself, @kevin_borich Kev and I hit it off on a @rockwiz tour many moons ago, and I fell hard for his generational talent on the axe, stage swagger and exceptional charm. He’s also one of the nicest, most down to earth guys in the bizz. Everybody just loves him, hence this star studded lineup! (2nd 3rd slide) Thanks to the amazingly hard working Nick O’Donnell @musicnotwar for wrangling me into the studio (not easy with my sched) and guiding the way, and to old mate @tim.henwood for engineering my vocal session like a boss. I can now say I’m on a record with @joewalshofficial ?! YES! Ella Hooper Instagram – Happy birthday to my dear Dad. I miss his ear for music very much. I’m so glad we caught some amazing gigs together in the last few years and when I need to cry about his too early passing, like I am today, I have the very best soundtrack. Last 3 gigs we attended together; I’m With Her, Jackson Browne and Patti Griffin. I cried at all three, overwhelmed with the beauty of the artistry, the level of talent, the power of the songs. Music and emotion, emotion and music intertwined. Dad’s preferred way of processing the world and it’s harder feelings, it’s happy ones too. All of them really. And I’m a goddamn chip off the old block in that regard. I can struggle with my emotions just like my dad did, accepting them, showing them. But not when the right song hits. Then I’m all in the feels. Riding the waves. Sending big loud love songs through the speakers of my heart to him, wherever he is now. Remembering you fondly Dad. Best taste, best ties.
