Reminding myself why I do what I do… Training is hard…but what these kids are going through is nothing compared to what I’ll be going through to raise the funds to help make a difference in their lives. What an adventure this trip has been! I did it! I did a MARATHON in Kenya!! Me!!! 5 hours and 39min of pain and self doubt! I still can’t believe I did it! If it wasn’t for my body being in so much pain I would still not believe it! I am so grateful to have been part of this incredible life changing experience! Pushed myself beyond what I thought I could do! What the mind can achieve when you truly have a purpose and passion for it is just UNREAL!! I am so proud of myself and the whole team I was with! We pushed through! And we did it for the beautiful children of @one_heart_co for @run_from_poverty ❤️ they were all so grateful for everything we did, do and will keep doing for them and their words and smiles were and are priceless. Feeling blessed and privileged to be training here where the world record athletes like Lornah Kiplagat train(ed) too 😳 🙏🏃🏾♀️ Today we did a 30min run. Just to get a feel of how it affects our lungs and our body and for some who run usually at a faster pace, it was quite challenging on their lungs, so they had to slow down and stop to find their breath again. Whereas I took my time and really focused on my breathing and lasted the whole 30min without stopping once…and again, I’m not a runner AND find it really hard to run for so long without getting “bored” & “stuck in my own thoughts” so it is and will be a HUGE challenge for me to last the 42.2kms BUT THIS RUN IS SPECIAL…and for a GREAT CAUSE so I will push myself and work on my mindset as hard as I can to finish it reminding myself every step of the way that this is for the beautiful kids of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and they are going through far worse than what I’m going through running a marathon just once.
