Manjari Fadnnis Instagram – That’s Charlie 🐕❤️ our building stray who waits near the lift & whenever anyone gets in, he walks in all excited with them & finds his way to my door on my floor, knocks with his paw 🐾 & walks in home eats a good meal & sleeps all day & once he’s well rested, he knocks on the door again to be dropped down. Oh y’a & he also gets occasional baths from me or a few other people here, when he gets dirty. But Charlie wasn’t always a stray. ….I 1st time found him in our residential complex chilling inside a baby pool in the clubhouse (while it was shut during the lockdown). He loves water… He used to just randomly jump into the fish pond in the club, just for kicks to play with the fish… 😅 We soon realised he was an abandoned baby, amongst the many dogs who got abandoned by families during Corona times… I don’t know how can anyone have the heart to do that. Disgusts me… He used to wait near the lift & cry as if waiting for his family to just take him home. It broke our hearts… The other strays in the society used to try bullying him, but he held his ground, just stood there fearlessly & let them bark it out. Till they all got used to his presence. He slowly made a place for himself & steadily with his sweet gentle personality, won the hearts of everyone in our colony & we named him Charlie. 😊 We tried getting him adopted but no one took him in since he was already a grown up dog & not a breed (Though he looks like a cross between a Husky & a Golden Retriever with hazel eyes. He’s gorgeous) Anyway, He’s now used to treating this beautiful complex as his home… while a few of us here give him all the love & care he needs. & now instead of 1 home he has found homes in 6/7 different houses here including mine, where he’s welcome, (Btw he’s very sweet with cats too) He visits us, sleeps all day & leaves when he feels like. (Our building society was sweet enough to make an exception for him otherwise they are very strict with rules for strays) I guess he gets the best of both worlds now..
