Motherhood is WILD. Nothing prepares you. It is all consuming. It’s hard. It makes your heart explode over and over. It’s joyful. It’s fun. It’s also very not fun. It’s opposing feelings stretching you in different directions all day every day. And along the way you grow and learn and you fall and you get back up and try again. And yet, I stand in total gratitude that I get to be a mom to these two little boys. Watching them grow, all the joyful and hard bits of it, has been such a gift. I’m also grateful to all the mamas and loved ones in my village (IYKYK) I wouldn’t survive this without them. 🌼🌻💐Happy Mothers Day to all 💐🌷🌸. And to all the women who miss their moms, or wish to be moms, or don’t talk to their moms- I send you so much love today.

For most of my career, making a living as an actor has become harder and harder. When I first started, so long as you booked a few gigs a year you could pay rent and pay your health insurance. Your residuals helped keep food on your table between gigs. You didn’t have to star in a movie or be a series regular on a show to make a living. That is no longer a reality. I have watched close friends work consistently and really struggle financially. I’ve watched my own residuals get smaller and smaller. And that’s the thing- we’re not asking for anything we didn’t have before. Well, except demanding we not be replaced by robots which a sentence I never thought I’d have to say as an artist. Striking causes all of us hardships, but especially our crews who are all waiting for this to be resolved so we can get back to work. This is a last resort, but we must stand firm. The industry has drastically changed, and so the rules and compensation models much drastically change. We stand with #WGA until a fair deal is made for all of us. Artists deserve to be compensated fairly for their work, and their likeness and voice deserve to be protected. UNION STRONG.
