Acrylic, textile and faux fur on canvas 20 x 16 in + digital certificate of authenticity ‍I use textile because it was traditionally labeled as low art/crafts, female work – and because I was forced to work with textile in my penal colony. Splashes of acrylic paint on the fabric are reminiscent of my 🩸 getting spilled on police and military uniforms that I was sewing in prison, injured by old and outdated equipment. This piece is a reflection on PTSD, the courage required to face hope, and to reject fear.
