Vijayalakshmi Instagram – I was 8 yrs old. There’s this uncle dad respects a lot. We 3 should visit him on bdays to get his blessings. He also gives 100Rs as bday gift! Now that’s wat I love abt visiting him. The 100Rs. It’s exciting bcz unlike other days, i dont have to giv it to mom. I can buy watvever I want. No questions asked. Back then, the value of 100 Rs was huge. It was July 1st. My birthday. Amma took us to uncle. He blessed me. Yay. I cudnt wait to open my eyes to the 100Rs. It’s always a fresh note! I could already smell it in my mind. blessing ended with a “Happy birthday” I opened my eyes. He smiled. I smiled. Aunty brought us cool drinks Amma was talking to them Tv Running. Kaakka kathing. It was a sunny day. Wait, where’s my 100 Rs? Did he forget? Wat? No! How can he? “Uncle, my 100Rs” I was screaming inside my mind. My sisters.. They looked normal. They din realise? Or just din care? How about amma? She was talky! No one cares bruh! The world looks happy. Hello it’s my bday and I’m sad here! Hello..! Ok now I’m only angry with my mom.Not uncle. Time to leave. Right at the middle of the junction, a bike from nowhere flew past me,almost hitting me. I stood there frozen in fear. My family panicked. Ok.. I’m ok! When I was about to move, something came flying and got stuck to the right foot. Into my floaters. I bent down, Only to realise it was a 100Rs. A new note. I looked around. No one is after. No idea where it came from! I ran to my mom showed the Note. She smiled. Held my chin n said “This is more special than uncles 100Rs” My face lit up. “Yes it’s special. Should I save it forever ma?” “No no! Go get wat u want. Spend the money. Save the memory! It’s godsent. To make u happy. Coz it’s your birthday.” Yes. It’s my birthday. A happy one.
