Bethany Hamilton Instagram – As a parent, I’m really aware that technology has a dark side. As a family, we are going very low tech use in our home and it feels right! Things I notice with our boys, they seem to be thriving, they are often creating and they love learning! I recently talked with Chris @protectyoungeyes for an @ohanaexperiences session, and here were my big takeaways mixed with some of my idea for parents to have a healthy tech home. – Be curious, not condemning – Social media contributes to low self-esteem and depression in our youth – Make tech off-limits for children in bedrooms and darkness – Help our children find passions that are free from tech! – Spend time in nature with our children- Our children need time with us! – Hold off Social AS LONG AS YOU CAN, I’ve heard later than 15 as a suggestion.
