The first 3 images are of #AfricanElephants and the last 3 images are of #AsianElephants 💚🌏 There is something so special about witnessing the maternal bond of elephants with their calves. DYK India has the world’s largest number of #AsianElephants in the wild? As gardeners of the forest, elephants are a species that bring balance to our ecosystem. A healthy ecosystem means a healthy planet for people. Elephants have a great memory, lasting generations. This is why they follow routes their ancestors followed. With a growing human population taking over their ancestral paths it is so important to ensure we find ways to give elephants their #RightOfPassage. @wildlifetrustofindia has mapped 101 elephant corridors that need to be secured. We have made some progress with various state governments adopting the #GajYatra and securing these corridors to ensure safe passage for our elephants. Much more work needs to be done to protect our Elephants.
