Donisha Rita Claire Prendergast Instagram – ‘Marathon’ and ‘Black Bodies’ were manifested as a response to our own experience. It’s a 2-part film with one intention; to incite conversation about the kinds of injustices marginalized people face. Black people, indigenous people, latino people … this is how we were inspired to respond. Marathon focuses on the never-ending race that people of color and marginalized communities are perpetually engaged in. We follow a black man on his run through life as he comes face-to-face with the realities of being black in the 21st century. Black Bodies showcases some of the devastating impacts that results from racial injustice. This was a come-unity driven project that engaged youth and others who live this experience day to day, as extras and performers in the film.
