Harleen Deol Instagram – I was 11 when I played my first selection match to get into the state team. I never realized that I played 3 games with my fractured finger. I had some pain but fear took over me and I didn’t let it out to anyone. I didn’t want to fail. I got selected but I could never represent my state in the national games because my injury by then was severe. I had a terrible year and I was de-motivated. Watching Rishabh’s story reminded me of the time when life challenged me as well.
I had been setting records since she I was a child, and everyone expected me to go far. But then, this incident impacted me heavily I started to lose my confidence and began to doubt myself.
Thankfully, my parents and family members took care of me, they helped me feel loved, protected, soon I found my confidence back and the rest as they say is history.
Now, years later I have an opportunity to ensure that my loved ones are also protected.
While I chase my dreams I do not want to leave their safety to chance. I would urge you also to take steps to protect our loved ones while we can, because we know life does not always come with second chances.
