Jada Pinkett Smith Instagram – Join me in saying #YesToYasuní!

Yasuní National Park is the most biodiverse place on Earth. It is home to some of the last Indigenous peoples in voluntary isolation – the Tagaeri, Taromenane and Dugakaeri tribes. But Yasuní’s fate hangs in the balance as a grave threat looms – big oil.

The fossil fuel industry’s intended projects would uproot precious ecosystems, causing widespread biodiversity loss and pollution. It would almost certainly cause the genocide of these Indigenous communites.

But Ecuador has a historic chance to protect Yasuní’s rainforest.

Together, let’s applaud the chance for Ecuadorians to vote in favor of Yasuní. Let us unite to support Yasuní and its Indigenous communities in this monumental referendum by spreading this vital message. 🌱🗳️ #YesToYasuní #SíAlYasuní #YasuníITT

Jada Pinkett Smith Instagram – We can’t imitate the greats.

Ntozake Shange’s work has always inspired me. Many know her award winning play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf. But it was her novel Sassafrass, Cypress and Indigo that became a treasure for me. Ntozake’s poetry illustrated and defined what “black girl magic” meant before it was even a term. This is one of the many reasons I use her poetry in my memoir Worthy to help express my journey. Her phrases sprinkle rain and throw sunshine upon the forgotten gardens of self worth within me… Conjuring every seedling of worth to break open and grow, grow and grow.
