Jessica M. Thompson Instagram – There is a long history of people striking (i.e. refusing to work) until we have secured better pay and conditions for our workers. We have a lot to thank labor unions for — the eight hour work day, sick pay, vacation pay, unemployment benefits, maternity leave (one day, the USA will catch up on this one). There is power in numbers. There is power in uniting and taking to the streets. Don’t let the corporations win. Don’t let greed win. We are not asking for much, only for what is fair. Without writers and creators, there is no art, no entertainment, no industry.
