Keely Cat Wells Instagram – Until next time D.C. ✈️ 👋
The last few days have been equally as exciting as they have exhausting!
Massive congratulations to @maria_town and her team at @aapdofficial for a wonderful event celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the ADA. It was incredible being in a room with so many leaders and changemakers including @senduckworth, @margauxjoffe, @jennifer.lee1, @andraealavant, @sheisjamiet @cascade4ever @kiknack @carlyfahey and so many more,
In addition and thanks to Anna Perng and AAPD, for a very special experience – I was able to take my mum to the White House! She has been with me through everything, including the very lowest and hardest parts of my disability journey so far.
And, one of my favourite humans @thetexastroya and I were also able to roam around the White House!
We saw“Rent” in concert the symphonic world premiere starring @alistroker who absolutely crushed it!
All while trying keep up with the exciting things happening at @_making_space__ and @_making_space_media… (last photo says it all 😆)
The ADA did not miraculously make America accessible & equitable, it was a major milestone but we do have a LONG way to go, and it certainly does not take away the nuances of medical conditions, but I am proud of being in a community that is constantly demanding and creating change.
