Ekta Kapoor Instagram – Story of two women It’s in 2016 I met rhea kapoor !I was told she is ‘sobo’ type entitled woth no idea of india or it’s audiences I had liked khubsoorat but with full scepticism I met her for her story on female friendships! N I loved it ! It spoke about conditioning peer n parental pressures fake fairy tales n ir realised here was a young voice who was self aware n empathetic to young women who did not limit her stories to the upper financial strata even though she chose a glamourous lens to make her content more inviting Balaji was going thru losses n it was almost embarrassing for me n mom to here v politely but firmly from the board films are not our cup of tea! I had to decline being d studio as financially a film led by 4 women wasn’t making sense esp now (2016) Mum got me a new car few days later to test ! She was like’ ur car is getting old buy a new one ‘ I said’ I’m not into cars clothes bags( as is obvious 🤣) I love stories n Rhea’s story I wanna tell it has stayed with me ‘ my mom stared at me n called balaji sales head Vimal n d rest of the team n told them ‘ Iv always supported Ekta s conviction n I’m not changing that now if there’s a loss I will pay for it to d company ‘Vimal said ‘ mam we support u guys we will push sales n there won’t b a chance for it’ then mom met anil sir n told him we want to do ths n he was In advancedtalks with another company but shook hands with mom. Thsi started my journey with thsi young voice that added so much to my journey! This is d second story of hers that we r telling! Not typically a ‘ feminist film but again a story about women that I was so happy to tell ! Rest for d evening …. Pss we miss our little ruch in this journey who isn’t little anymore .
