Daniel Wu Instagram – Race 1 complete! Not the result I wanted. Had a really bad start because I opted not to use the launch control system as it is very complicated and I did not have time to practice enough with it. So I got jumped by a couple cars at the start. A full course yellow that lasted half the race meant I couldn’t chase my way back so was only able to move up one position. Tomorrow’s race will require a bit more aggression from the get go. My Dong Feng Honda teammates Martin Xie and Jack Youg however kicked some major ass with a 1 2 finish. Daniel Wu Instagram – Photo dump from today’s first practice. Today didn’t go as I hoped. We had one session but had to do a bunch of technical things which ate into my track time so when I finally got out there I was a bit too eager on the brand new tires and had a little spin in turn three. In the end I only got about 4 laps which was not enough time for me to get a good pace or rhythm going. This is a new car and a new track so my mind was busy and couldn’t focus on just the driving. Although I spent the last month training on my home simulator, it’s not the same as being here for real. Also I was not prepared for how hot it was going to be in the car. The thick race suit and no ventilation in the car felt like I was driving a sauna around the track. We will be installing the cool shirt system tomorrow so hopefully that will help. I have two more practice sessions tomorrow and hopefully I can pick up some pace and get myself where I need to be for the races on the weekend.🤞#racecar #honda #jas #civictyper #TCR
