Amelia Bekale of Gamètì is not only an incredible artist and upstanding member of her community, but is also the *first* student in her high school’s history to graduate with all the academic prerequisites required for acceptance into university! She’ll be pursuing a Bachelor of Art in Art and Design at The University of Alberta, where a thousand more firsts are sure to come!
Alexander Ketchum of Yellowknife is the epitome of the word phenom (also maybe savant? Seriously!) in addition to being a passionate and talented musician, he’s also a founding member of the local prog-rock sensation QUANTUM HAZE! He’ll be going after a Bachelor of Music at MacEwan University, where his music will undoubtedly continue to advance at quantum speeds!…not sure if that means fast, but it sounds like it should and that’s what I intended: fast.
Nikolai Deleff of Yellowknife will be studying Creative Writing at The University of Victoria, where he’ll continue his journey as a community leader, illustrator and author, which *already* includes successfully publishing his own children’s book “Bear and Ivory”, and his up and coming story “Superdog Jake: And a Whole Lotta Cake”!!! Colour me a whole lotta impressed!
