💪🏽 Solidarity with labor, period. Workers united can halt operations in a multi-billion-dollar industry because they are necessary. If they are necessary, they have value. If they have value, they should have an unobstructed view of that value: transparency re: the fruits of their labor and the ability to negotiate fair compensation reflecting that value.
Only 5-15% of our union members earn the annual $26,470 needed to qualify for health care. So 85-95% of us earn less than $26,470 a year. @Variety estimates that only 2 percent of the union’s membership “safely earn a middle class wage…” This is about the working class, not the wealthy.
Hold fast and fairly. 🪧

As I and so many other parents gear up for the busy back to school season – there are millions of kids across the U.S. that lack access to even the most basic school supplies – like a toothbrush and toothpaste. •Children from low-income families are 2x as likely to suffer from tooth decay while Black and Hispanic kids are almost 2 and 4 times as likely to suffer from oral health issues as their peers. This consequential discrepancy in oral care access is known as the Smile Gap and as a former student and teacher in low-income school districts, I’ve seen the impact that a lack of resources can have on kids’ self-esteem, performance and overall development.
* Since 2021, @Crest and @OralB have remained committed to #ClosingAmericasSmileGap by providing free dental screenings, oral health education and millions of oral care products to those in need and this back-to-school season, I’m partnering with them to help end oral health inequity and close America’s Smile Gap.
* Every Crest & Oral-B product purchased between now and September 30th will help donate to a child in need. Head to the link in my bio and stories to learn more about the initiative and how you can help join us in #ClosingAmericasSmileGap today.
