John Heilemann Instagram – Fourteen months after his first acl surgery (right knee), on Monday #dzadognyc returned to @amcny to have his second (left knee). This was DZA’s *fourth* surgery in his five years on 🌎 (the other two were to fix a small birth defect in his shoulder when he was a puppy and to remove a huge but benign tumor from his mouth), all performed by AMC’s insanely talented and fully lovable head of surgery, Dr Pam Schwartz (praise jeebus for that woman). All of which is simply to say that this lovable lug has had *way* more than his fair share of medical mishegas … yet he’s come through all of it with his profound sweetness, gangly goofiness, outlandish optimism, and overflowing empathy 100% intact.
