Marco Spronk Instagram – you win some, you lose some. after founding the black mirror society brand and music label at the end of 2019, as a team, we did not expect to receive a letter in the mail from a huge law firm, after almost 3 and a half years. having our brand lawyer on our side we tried to keep our rights to release music and sell clothing/other products under our black mirror society brand name. unfortunately, being a small independent label and company we couldn’t secure the rights to keep selling physical products with this specific brand name, although arguing we are a small music company and have no involvement in the business endeavors of endemol and their netflix-series black mirror.
therefore we decided to rename the brand to mirror-society, this way we can keep selling our clothing and physical music releases. all the music under the black mirror society name (the albums etc.) will still exist as is and as far as we are aware of, there will be no issues in the future after changing the original brand name. this new name is also already officially submitted and registered.
next to that, we are excited about what the future will bring. we have already lined up a whole new clothing collection and are working very hard to sign new artists in the future. this is only the beginning.
