Matthew Santoro Instagram – On my final day here in Brussels I was honoured to give a brief talk in the EU Parliament. Surrounded by distinguished guests, politicians and leaders of industry I discussed how creators like myself have the ability, and in many ways responsibility, to leverage our platforms and followings to raise awareness (and when possible, funds) for important causes. One such cause was the launch of the European Cancer Community Foundation today, which aims to eliminate inequalities in cancer care and funding. Cancer is a disease will affect all of us at some point either directly or indirectly. I’ve lost family members from this horrible disease and had friends affected by it, which is why it’s close to my heart. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this initiative. My community and I have already raised tens of thousands for charity this year, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and soon our efforts will expand overseas to Europe!
