Rainn Wilson Instagram – Ran into old friends at the picket lines today at Warner Brothers! Folks, this is about middle-class writers and actors trying to feed their families and pay their mortgages. This new streaming business model that has (impetuously and without any long-term consideration) transformed the entire industry over the last 5 years, has completely screwed over working class creatives in Hollywood in all kinds of ways – more draconian contracts, little to no residuals, and less writers room hires. For instance: remember the 57 BILLION MINUTES of The Office viewed on Netflix in 2020? Our “residuals” for that historic run were beyond pathetic.
