Brilliant new cover art by Tony Moore for FEAR AGENT 20 Year Anniversary Deluxe Hardcover vol. 1 coming out in December. @imagecomics @giantgenerator
Got to see the Pixies and Modest Mouse play at the Hollywood Bowl last night and afterwords my old pal @brianposehn introduced me to Charles aka Black Francis. I had a conversation with him, learned some very cool stuff, and didn’t make a total goof out of myself. You’d all have been proud.
A young man hawks his wares at a Seattle convention for the popular arts in 2012. He would eventually grow old and die.
The next level new cover by @coloneltonymoore for the FEAR AGENT 20 year anniversary oversized deluxe hardcover vol. 2 — coming this December for good boys and girls. @imagecomics @giantgenerator
I’ve been involved in a number of conversations this week about how to gauge the success of a creator owned comic book. And apparently a lot of people are basing it on the opening numbers. But that’s no kind of a real metric. It misses the point entirely and is some short sighted shit. It’s a game for the opening weekends of films that doesn’t have any affect on where the real money and creative payout is in comics: longevity. Books with longevity that are made to have a beginning, middle, and end created by a passionate team of co-owners with an eye on making an evergreen story will continue to sell and make you money for years and years to come. The gauge of success is the entire series. It’s the ongoing sales of trade paperbacks, and hard covers years and years after the book wrapped. Comic books live and die on longevity and love. Ignore the press, the noise, fuck the trends — make your art how you want to make it, give it the time to do it right, ignore IP puppy mill thinking, give it all of your heart and it’ll live forever and continue to generate.

A fun Fear Agent piece by @markchilcottart
New LOW Stel Caine piece from the master of watercolors @gregtocchini_art LOW compendium edition — a beautiful softcover of the entire series — just came out. Buy it. Read it. Beat off a mugger. That didn’t sound right. I meant, stave off a mugger with the huge compendium book. Whatever. @imagecomics @giantgenerator

How about only envision the best version of the future. For a while anyway. Maybe everything will be okay. Why not focus on that version? Maybe it’ll help bring it to reality.
Recently found a giant box of slide photos my dad took. This is a sunset in Honolulu circa 1961.
Come to NYCC! We will have a big set up and will be selling my personal stock of every single GG oversized deluxe HC. I will touch each book, tenderly, as well as graffiti tag the interior w my Johnson Hancock. We will also have a big panel w a bunch of my esteemed colleagues where we will take your questions about anything and we will announce a bunch of new projects that you will find to your tastes. How do I know? Come find out at booth HB907 — or so I’m told — but who fucking knows? It’s somewhere in artist alley. Whatever. You’ll figure it out.
