hi from Venice. 🇮🇹 ~ ~ #italiangirl
Queen Sassy has gone to heaven ❤️💔 The day that Sassy passed, there was a dragonfly buzzing around me. Like circling my head, as if it was forcing me to notice it?! It was weird. I googled “ what does a dragonfly symbolize?” ~ transformation, love, change. it was perfect. Sassypants was transformed by love. When I adopted her, she was withdrawn and scared because of whatever unspeakable acts had been done to her. But in our years together, Sassy was surrounded by friends & family who doted on her. She became confident, proud, & self actualized. My friend told me I helped Sassy discover who she truly was- a queen. 🩵 I think that’s true. In the last year of her life, Sassy could not walk without assistance. And when she passed, I wondered.. now that she is in heaven, will she run again? will her health be restored so she can play and gallop across rolling fields? I know, I sound like every grief stricken person trying to believe.. And then, the next day, I got a text from a person that I quite honestly do not know that well, we perhaps text once a year? But she wrote to me: “ this is going to sound really weird, but I dreamt about Sassy last night and she looked really good. She came right up to me on the beach, and she was happy, and her tail was wagging. I don’t know why, but I felt like I needed to tell you.” To me this was a message that our beloved pets do go on, and they do become whole and well once again. I wanted to share this experience for all of you out there who have lost your pet too. I also want to thank my husband. He treated Sassypants with absolute devotion and love. He always said it was an honor to care of her. Isn’t that the truth. Sassypants, it was an honor and a privilege to be your family. Thank you for coming into our lives. I will miss you forever. Now go and run on the beach and know that you are forever loved. We will meet again, in every lifetime, my sable queen. 🦋❤️🐾 @dayinthelifeofsammy
