Anneka Rice Instagram – Feeling nostalgic for the days when I was always working towards an exhibition. Gives you such a purpose. The theme of this exhib was Exposure, putting myself in uncomfortable exposing circumstances as I painted. . So, for ex, I set up my easel in dance studios and painted dancers in rehearsals – and then there was the day I set up in a box at the ‘Sunny Afternoon’ theatre, to paint the actors in the Kinks musical, live as they performed. Laid out my dust sheets, acrylic paints, brushes, all the back stage staff dropped by to check I had everything I needed. Everyone excited. All ready. Lights went down. Show started….Plunged into darkness! Couldn’t even see the paint. Let along the canvas to splodge it on. Had to explain to the company manager in the interval that I’d need to come back with a head torch.
